May 10, 2010

Embroidery on textile is an age old tradition being practiced for decorating the fabrics with creative designing performed through stitching where one material is layered over another smartly giving it an entirely new look.

Wool and thread stitches are worked upon woven fabrics, usually in embroideries of all types. Traditional non-woven materials include felt and leather but contemporary textile artists perform embroidery on variety to non-traditional kind of material for example plastic sheeting.

Usually specific stitches of embroidery are used. Another such form is hand embroidery. It is performed without the help of similar electric tool and sewing machine. Traditional artists who inherit this talent through their ancestors and are skilled in craftsmanship use this form usually.

Hand embroidery has been replaced by machine embroidery nowadays since machine embroidery reduces the hard work and saves time too. It has a vast area of its own and is used for creative working on singular pieces and even at collective clothing products.
